I hear what you’re saying and I think you’re right, but I don’t think it’s a good thing. To often, we elevate charisma and personality above character and principles. When laid out so plainly, I don’t think I know anyone who would side with personality over biblical principles, but we’ve all done it at least once in our lifetime. It doesn’t matter half so much how much fun that leader is to follow as it does where he is taking us.
I pine with you for a leader who leads by biblical principles in a charismatic way. You’re right, those are rare.
