- INFORMATIONAL STUDY the goal is to learn more
- FORMATIONAL STUDY the goal is to be changed
- INFORMATIONAL STUDY we cover as much as possible
- FORMATIONAL STUDY we cover what we need to
- INFORMATIONAL STUDY we read line after line
- FORMATIONAL STUDY we read for depth, words
- INFORMATIONAL STUDY the goal is mastering the text
- FORMATIONAL STUDY the goal is the text masters me
- INFORMATIONAL STUDY the text is an object
- FORMATIONAL STUDY I am the object of the text
- INFORMATIONAL STUDY we read analytically
- FORMATIONAL STUDY we read receptively
- INFORMATIONAL STUDY is to solve problems
- FORMATIONAL STUDY is to experience mysteries
- INFORMATIONAL STUDY is communication from God
- FORMATIONAL STUDY is communion with God
- INFORMATIONAL STUDY is to know about God
- FORMATIONAL STUDY is to know God

Interesting concept… The thing is, I like the all the outcomes of both types. I want to do both. Hopefully, they’re not mutually exclusive?

I think the formational study can be enhanced by an informational study. The formational study must be the end game but the informational study can often be the “clearing the land” process that leads to building a strong and deep formational study that is truly transformational.
