The Faith: What Christians Believe, Why They Believe It, and Why It Matters, Chuck Colson
Great book that simply and powerfully spells out the basics of orthodox Christianity. Every church planter should read this as they prepare to feed their new flocks on God’s core teachings.
axiom: Powerful Leadership Proverbs, Bill Hybels
My leadership has been stretched and grown over the years as I have listened to Hybels in conferences and read his books. This one is a collection of 76 of his leadership proverbs. About three pages per lesson. Organized in four categories: Vision and Strategy, Teamwork and Communication, Activity and Assessment, Personal Integrity. After I do my Bible reading in my office in the morning, I read one of these chapters to get my leadership cranked up for the day.

Thanks for putting up the new Colson book. I’ll have to check that out. I’ve been doing the same thing with ‘Axiom’. Glad it’s broken up the way it is.

Almost picked up Axiom at Summit, but I got True North by Bill George instead and it’s great. Another one I recently started is Change or Die by Alan Deutschman. Good quick read on the psychology of change in organizations and very easy to relate to Church world and personal decision making!

The Faith was FANTASTIC. Read it right after the InnovateChurch conference after hearing Colson speak.
I’ll have to check out Axiom. Hadn’t heard of it yet.
